My name is Tom Hanson. Since 1976 I have worked as a gunsmith, designer, and machinist. In 1976 I graduated from The Colorado School of Trades in Lakewood, Colorado.  After completing my training in Colorado, I worked for a few years as a gunsmith in Fargo, North Dakota in a custom gun shop as a factory warranty gunsmith for Browning, Colt, Remington, Harrington and Richardson and Winchester, until heading east to work as a gunsmith for George Numrich Jr., owner of Numrich Arms in  the Hudson Valley of New York state.  Early in my employment there, George started accepting my designs  for products and replacement  parts. In 1980 I opened a home machine shop to produce, as a subcontractor, some of the parts and products they sell.

Times have changed and the shop has outgrown its’ part time function with the addition of state-of-the-art CNC machining  capabilities and traditional lathes, polishing, bluing and related shop equipment.  In July, 1999, I left Numrich  and Hudson Trading Post Ltd was opened. We were located in Saugerties, NY.

In 2010 I  moved the shop to Las Cruces, NM as Tom Hanson, Las Cruces Gunsmith. And can now provide the Southwest with excellent gunsmith services.  I offer Cad-Cam design services together with complex part duplication using CNC equipment.  We services old and new guns, provide general and custom CNC machining, products and designs. Whatever your machining or gun needs, just give me a call. Welcome to the Rio Grande.
